Kindergarten7th Grade |
Each week, young people flock to Kol Shofar to sing, dance, pray, snack, chat, play and learn. Beit Binah is an opportunity to immerse your children in the culture and life of our people. The curriculum focuses on Hebrew, Jewish knowledge, traditions and values, and Israel. Additional family education programs let parents share in the fun. Beit Binah meets on Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons.

B'nei Mitzvah Program 6th & 7th Grades |
|
Our Bnei Mitzvah program, which is part of Beit Binah, begins in 6th grade. 6th graders begin learning synagogue skills in class. Our curriculum emphasizes values, content, and meaning rather than just rote performance.
7th graders study with the Rabbi and attend several Shabbat morning services along with their parents to become more a part of the Shabbat community and learn about the Shabbat service as a class.
Additionally, the Bnei Mitzvah program helps to build a greater sense of community connectedness through retreats, dinners, and Shabbat classes. The B'nei Mitzvah program classes are held Sunday mornings, Wednesday afternoons, and occasional Saturdays.
To
celebrate a bar or bat mitzvah at Kol Shofar, students must have a
minimum of five years of Jewish education in Beit Binah, or in another
program approved by the rabbis. Enrolling your children by the third
grade is necessary to learn Hebrew sufficiently for their bar/bat
mitzvah service and to learn the Jewish values and traditions that we
believe are essential to meaningfully becoming bar or bat mitzvah in
our community.
