WE HAVE TWO OPPORTUNIITES TO FEED THE HUNGRY:
Weekly Sunday evening dinners at Westminster Church, for the Marin Emergency Shelter.
AND
Monthly Sunday lunches (at St. Stephens Church) through the Southern Marin Hot Meal Coalition
Emergency Shelter Dinners Due to the current economic situation more and more people need our help. HELP FEED THE HUNGRY.
AND, because the county is not opening a shelter, as they did last year, a number of churches and synagogues have taken on the responsibility of housing and feeding Marin's homeless population this winter.
What's needed? We need you to bring and serve food, every Sunday night, December through beginning of April.
Each week we need two main dishes, each should feed 16 people.
We are also hoping to raise some money to purchase some supplies. We need a soup warmer and pot. (Approximately $200.00) and we need money for sleeping bags and blankets.
Location: Westminster Church, alongside Westminster members.
To volunteer for any Sunday, contact Kol Shofar volunteer Mark Kaplan, who coordinates the meals, by contacting him at coalitionlunch@kolshofar.org.
Coalition Lunch Kol Shofar in partnership with three Southern Marin Churches provide the Coalition Lunch which is held at Saint Stephens Church in Belvedere each Sunday from 12:00 2:00 PM.
The Kol Shofar community is responsible for providing volunteers for the coalition lunchs set-up, cleaning, hosting and donations of home cooked food for 30 people on the second Sunday of each month. If you are unable to volunteer by providing food or on-site help please consider sending a monetary donation to purchase these essentials to those in our Marin community who are unable to provide for themselves. Send a check payable to Kol Shofar, earmarked for the Southern Marin Hot Meal Coalition.
