Dear Kol Shofar community,
I am excited to announce that Rabbi Leider and I will be leading a unique cultural/educational/service trip to Guatemala from February 23-March2, 2020. On the trip we will visit Mayan villages, learning from community members about their lives and struggles, and working with them side-by-side building sanitary latrines.
We will meet with local experts to learn about Guatemala’s political, social, and economic conditions. We will visit colonial Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and will spend Shabbat at stunningly beautiful Lake Atitlán. Throughout the trip, we will contextualize our experiences through Jewish tradition and learning, and will gather together for communal prayer and meditation.
These are only some of the highlights of this extraordinary trip that Rabbi Leider and I are so excited to lead.
The trip is limited to 16 participants and may fill up quickly, so early registration is recommended. For trip details, please see the attached flyer. If you have further questions about the trip itinerary and content, please contact me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
