“Jew-by-choice” is the term used to refer to someone who has chosen to become a Jew. No longer stigmatized as a “convert”, a Jew-by-choice brings great joy to the entire Jewish community as that person’s destiny is now joined with that of the Jewish people.

A Jew-by-choice may celebrate this decision by confirming their identity as a Jew before the congregation at a service. At Congregation Kol Shofar we recognize and embrace Jews-by-choice.
