Jewish teens benefit from connectedness. Certainly, connectedness to family is important, but also connectedness to peers and community. Such connectedness helps to develop emotional and social competence, as well as meaning and purpose in life. Kol Shofar’s Youth Group programs are intended foster this exact kind of connectedness in informal settings.
Our teen Youth Group is part of the national USCJ youth movement called USY (United Synagogue Youth). Our local chapter is Marin USY or MUSY (guess what the mascot must be!)
MUSY is comprised of its own chapter board, including a President and several Vice Presidents overseeing various portfolios, such as: Social Action/Tikkun Olam, Israel Affairs, Communications, Religion/Education, and Membership.
In USY, our chapter board plans and leads monthly events, while regional events are scheduled throughout the year and are listed on the Kol Shofar Beit Binah-Tichon calendar
